A brief story about how it started: Peter Buitelaar. Born in Nijmegen/Holland in 1956 has been traveling in Morocco since 1978. Avoiding the cold Dutch winter was one of his first reasons to travel south and very soon he became impressed by the wild beauty of the Moroccan landscape.

Through the years he has done more than 75.000 km’s of tracks (also in Algeria, Niger, Burkina, Mali, Ghana, Turkey, Syria, Jordan) and became hereby an expert in desert-off-road-driving. Vehicles used during his tours: Nissan King-Cab, Toyota Hi-lux, Unimog 1300, Daf 4440 dutch-army-truck, Yamaha XT600 en BMW R100GS type “paris-dakar”, Toyota Landcruiser BJ45, HJ45, HJ61 and now a Toyota HZJ80 special edition.

2003 was a special year for Peter: Zineb came into his life. They met each other on a viewpoint in the middle Ouarzazate, the town where they now both live.
